Scott Saterlee

Scott Satterlee is a nationally recognized precision rifle competitor, instructor, and veteran whose experience spans competitive shooting, military service, and professional training. Active in both PRS and NRL competition, Scott has been a consistent top performer for nearly a decade, finishing as high as 5th overall in the PRS standings in 2018 and regularly placing among the top competitors at major matches.

A Green Beret veteran, Scott served 26 years in U.S. Special Operations Command with multiple combat deployments. During his military career, he trained Special Forces soldiers in marksmanship and Close Quarter Battle (CQB) and later served as the lead instructor and chief operations officer for 1st Special Forces Group, retiring in 2016. His operational background and instructional experience bring a practical, performance-focused approach to precision shooting.

Scott grew up hunting throughout the Western states and began competing in NRA Service Rifle in the early 1990s, continuing to shoot High Power, Small Bore, and USPSA matches throughout his military career. As precision rifle competition grew, he found his niche and has remained deeply involved in the sport ever since. He is also the driving force behind the NRL Hunter League, a field-style shooting match he created to blend PRS-style competition with the real-world scenarios and skills encountered while hunting. Since its creation, the NRL Hunter League has taken off and grown into the popular competition format it is known as today.

Today, Scott owns SSTAC LLC (Scott Satterlee Training and Consulting), where he provides precision rifle training, curriculum development, and consulting for shooters ranging from beginners to advanced competitors and backcountry hunters. Whether competing, teaching, or developing new training programs, Scott is passionate about sharing knowledge, refining performance, and advancing the precision shooting community.
